Our History
The roots of Fort Myers Marine date back over 35 years, but the story starts when our founder and former owner, Charles Calkins, turned his lifelong passion of "fixing anything" into what would become southwest Florida's largest single-location boat retailer and service department. His passion for helping people and ability to treat every customer like family, was the start of something different, something unique, something you couldn't experience at other big box boat dealers - the opportunity to be known, valued and appreciated.

In May of 2021, brothers Jason and Josh Ross acquired Fort Myers Marine from Mr. Calkins. They have the same passion for people and desire to remain true to the core DNA of what makes Fort Myers Marine special; the employees and customers. By uniting their expertise in business operations, finance and marketing with the industry experience of Fort Myers Marine staff, Fort Myers Marine is in the perfect position to expand upon the solid foundation built by Mr. Calkins.
